Patron, The Mayor of Bath.
Bath Photographic Society,
founded in 1888, is believed to be one of the oldest societies of its kind
in the UK. Based in the photogenic City of Bath, it is an informal and
friendly photographic society with a membership currently standing at around
50. Despite
the age of the Society, we are not stuck in the past! Members embrace new technology and there is a
very active
digital element to the Society's activities. Whether you are a
beginner or experienced in the world of digital photography you will be
very welcome to join us.
Some images of our Annual Exhibition was held in the Bath Library, The Podium, Bath, 16-21 December 2013 and opened by our Patron, the Mayor of Bath.
Our programme is designed to have broad
appeal. Many of our meetings involve digital photographic tuition. Throughout the year we welcome a number of well-known speakers who
present and describe their work. Competitions are regular feature
of our photographic group.
There are categories for colour and monochrome prints and digital
projection . Other evenings are devoted to
helping you learn digital photography, studio
sessions, presentations of members work, and joint meetings with other
photographic clubs in the neighbourhood. Once a year we hold an exhibition of members'
work.
